I added an entry in Wikipedia under the “Watership Down” novel references section to “Katydid” with the following text:
• In the novelette “Katydid” by Popeye Theophilus Barrnumb, which contains an overarching rabbit-based sub-theme, “Watership Down” is noted as the favorite book of the protagonist, 10-year-old Katy, a copy of which she sought for many years, but never found, in the post-apocalyptic world in which the story takes place.
We’ll see how long it stays there. They tend to get a bit persnickety, to be polite about it. Here is a link to the page:

My guess is that someone there will think it is an “invalid reference” because “Katydid” is “only a self-published novelette”, and/or not a best-seller, and/or not a Pulitzer-Prize-Winner, and/or not by a “well-known author”, etc., and/or something like that.
Or it may be there forever. Regardless, it is now here forever. I think it deserves to be there, though. Below is a link to a snapshot image of the apropos portions of the web page. (as it now stands)
