Here’s a nice tool for writers. Especially when you get into an inescapable Thesaurus whirlwind of Hell, looking for the word you want, looking up (or clicking) a word from a list, and then another word that is kind of what you mean, and on and on and on, never finding the word that is just on the tip of your tongue or brain – I HATE it when that happens.
So far I’ve used the OneLook Reverse Dictionary a few times and it seems to work really well.
Just recently I was trying to think of the word “sacrilege” and it just wouldn’t come, so I went to the online Thesaurus and it didn’t help. So I entered “anti-sacred” in the OLRD, and there was sacrilege not too far down.
Try it, I think you’ll like it.
